Kevin Sutherland

Sutherland won the 1990 Queen Mary Open and the 1994 Portland Invitational. Was the leading money-winner on the 1990 Golden State Tour and was a member of the Nike Tour in 1991, '92, and '95. His best finish was second in 1991 at the Greater Ozarks Open and 1992 Hawkeye Open. His brother David became a PGA Tour member in 1997 and played until 2004.

He played full-time on the PGA Tour between 1996 and 2011, competing in 447 events. Made the cut 310 times and finished with 48 top 10s, earning a total of $15,658,171. His best year on the PGA Tour was not in 2002 when he won the Accenture Match Play (Finished year 36th on the money list, $1.5 million in earnings), but in 2008 when he won $2,581,311 and was 18th on the money list and 11th on the FedExCup race.
2011 Notes: He made only five cuts in 11 starts before neck, and back injuries forced him to take the rest of the season off after missing the cut at The Players Championship.
2012 Notes: Played the season on a Major Medical Extension. He made only four starts before shutting his season down due to a neck injury in February after AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Again, he played on a Major Medical Extension and had 11 events to earn $355,587, coupled with 2011 and 2012 earnings, equaling No. 125 from the 2011 money list.
2013 Notes: Made six of 13 PGA Tour cuts but failed to clear his Major Medical Extension. Did not have a top-10 for a third consecutive season. He finished 186th in the FedExCup standings and 176th on the money list. He played under the past champion category.
2014 Notes: Joined the PGA Tour Champions midway through the season after turning 50 in July and debuted at the U.S. Senior Open, finishing T-38th when he played on a special exemption from the USGA. Made PGA Tour Champions history when in his ninth career round, he carded a 13-under-par 59 on Saturday at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open, the first sub-60 score in the history of the Tour. He was 11-under for his first 11 holes, eventually making 12 birdies, an eagle, and a bogey at the final hole. Shot 9-under 28 on the first nine, tying the all-time PGA Tour Champions record in relation to par (Jay Sigel, 9-under 27 at the 1998 Bell Atlantic Classic). His run of seven birdies and an eagle on the first nine also tied Sigel's all-time mark for the best birdie-eagle stretch in Tour history. They took a one-stroke lead into the final round but shot 74 Sunday to eventually finish T-7th. The best finish of the year came at the SAS Championship. He finished T-5th. He ended the year 46th on the final money list and Schwab rankings in just 10 starts.
2015 Notes: Made a brief run up the leader board during Sunday's final round at The ACE Group Classic, finishing six under par on his front nine. He could not maintain his momentum and finished with a 6-under-par 66 to finish sixth. At the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic, was the 36-hole leader but fell back on the back nine to finish T-2nd along with Tom Lehman one shot back of David Frost. He has played great in the senior majors this year; at the Regions, Tradition was runner-up, losing a playoff to Jeff Maggert. The following week finished T-13th at the Senior PGA Championship, T-10th at Constellation Senior Players, T-7th at the U.S. Senior Open, and T-19th at the Senior Open Championship. He had his second runner-up finish at the 3M Championship and was third at the Toshiba Classic. He was sixth on the money list and seventh on the Schwab rankings.
2016 Notes: He played in 23 events; in his first seven events, he finished in the top-11 in six of them, the best T-7th at the Insperity Invitational. He had another big run when he finished T-6th at Dick's Sporting Goods Open. It started a run in which he didn't finish higher than 17th in his 12 events. He was runner-up at the Boeing Classic, losing a playoff to Bernhard Langer. He also was runner-up at the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach. At the 3M Championship, finished T-3rd, two back of the playoff. The year ended with 12 top-tens as he was sixth on the money list and eighth in the Schwab Rankings.
2017 Notes: Sutherland's year was one of the most successful of his professional career, as he clinched the Charles Schwab Cup with his win at the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Played in 23 events and was in the top ten 15 times, including the Schwab Cup win, runner-up finishes at the Bass Pro Shop Legends of Golf teamed with Paul Goydos, Principal Charity Classic, and Dick's Sporting Good Open. He was third in the 3M Championship and Shaw Charity Classic. He was third on the money list with $1.96 million, his third year with over a million dollars in earnings.
2018 Notes: Played in 24 PGA Tour Champions events finishing in the top 10 nine times. Their best finish was 2nd at the Boeing Classic; he shot a career-low 60 in the 2nd round but shot 71 in the final round to final 3 back of winner Scott Parel. It was T-4th the next month at the Sanford International. He surpassed the million-dollar mark for the fourth straight season finishing 17th in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
2019 Notes: Played in 18 PGA Tour Champions events with ten top-ten finishes. He was 14th on the Schwab Rankings. Won the Rapiscan Systems despite shooting a final round 75, beat Scott Parel in a 7-hole playoff when Sutherland made a birdie. He also won the Principal Charity Classic when he shot a course-record 62 in the final round to erase an 8-shot deficit, the third-largest in PGA Tour Champions history. He tied again with Scott Parel and won on the second hole of the playoff. He ended the season T-6th at the Dick's Sporting Good Classic, T-7th at the Boeing Classic, and T-8th at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
2020 & 2021 Notes: Played in 30 PGA Tour Champions events with 16 top-ten finishes. He was 8th on the Schwab Rankings. He was T-8th at the Morocco Champions. Shot a second-round 63 at the Chubb Classic and finished T-3rd, four shots back of winner Scott Parel. Was T-9th at the Cologuard Classic, T-7th at the Hoag Classic, T-10th at the Ally Challenge, and T-8th at the Bridgestone Senior Players, the last of six straight top-ten finishes. Shot a final-round 63 at the Charles Schwab Series at Ozarks National to finish 3rd, six shots back of winner Phil Mickelson. Birdied the ninth extra hole to defeat Paul Broadhurst and become the sixth player with multiple wins at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Was T-4th at the 2021 Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai. Won the 2021 Cologuard Classic by two shots over Mike Weir. He was T-4th at the 2021 Chubb Classic, two shots back of winner Steve Stricker. Finished T-7th at the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship and T-5th at the U.S. Senior Open. He ended his season with a T-24th finish at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
2022 Notes: Played in 22 PGA Tour Champions events with two top-ten finishes. It was 27th in the Schwab ranking and 34th on the money list with $651,737 in earnings. Was T-8th at the Principal Charity Classic and 5th at the TimberTech Championship. The result moved him from 37th to 26th in the Charles Schwab Cup standings, earning him a spot in the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, finishing T-26th.
2023 Notes: Co-leader, after the first round at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, finished T-6th, seven shots back of winner Steve Stricker. At The Galleri Classic, they opened with 6-under 66 before shooting 70-71 on the weekend to finish T-10th.
