Golf has been a part of Mark's life as long as he can remember. His parents let him nap in a baby carrier when they took lessons at The Club at Rolling Hills in Golden, Colorado. Then Mark remembers riding along in the golf cart and then taking golf lessons. He was born with natural athleticism and played everything from soccer to football to basketball to swimming to skiing. These sports helped him within golf getting better balance, body movement, and hand-eye coordination.
Hubbard went to prep school at Colorado Academy were he starred in both basketball and golf. But he was clearly the best amateur golfer in Colorado, winning both the state stroke and match play events in 2007. Only four people have ever done that. Then Hubbard went to San Jose State where he was an All-American pick for three years. He won twice during his college career including at the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Championship. He turned pro after graduating with a business management degree in 2012. After turning pro, Hubbard played on a few different mini Tours in the United States while also playing on his first professional tour, the developmental Mackenzie Tour Canada. He found himself sleeping in billet homes, on people's floors, on couches, and even in his 2001 Volvo as he traveled from British Columbia to Nova Scotia. He was fine with it, hence his nickname and Twitter handle: "Homeless Hubbs." In 2012 he played in 8 Mackenzie Tour events making the cut in seven of them with four top-ten finishes the best being a T-6th at the Players Cup. He made Canadain$18,787 which placed him 15th on the money list.

Was T-10th at the Great Waterway Classic, won the Wildfire Invitational and T-7th at the Tour Championship Canada.
