Tom Byrum

Byrum and his older brother, Curt, we're a talented and proven team on the PGA Tour. With Tom's win in the 1989 Kemper Open and Curt's win seven weeks later in the Hardee's Golf Classic, they became the first brothers to win in the same year since Dave and Mike Hill performed the feat in 1972.
He's involved with a nine-hole course, The Training Station, where golfers of all ages play three, six or nine holes.
A full-time member of the PGA Tour from 1986-2008, he played in 603 events and made 330 cuts, including 41 top-10 finishes and six runner-up finishes. Competed on the Web.Com Tour off and on, making 52 career starts, 26 cuts, and five top 10s. His best finish was tied for second at the 1995 Tallahassee Open.
In PGA Tour Champions Qualifying School, he was T-28th at the end of 2010, T-25th at the end of 2011 and, again, T-25th at the end of 2012.
2012 Notes: Open-qualified for five of the nine events he played during the year, with a pair of top-10 finishes. Three straight sub-par rounds led to a PGA Tour Champions career-best T-sixth finish at the Boeing Classic in August. Was T-ninth at the Insperity Invitational and missed the cut at the True South Classic in his only PGA Tour start.
2013 Notes: Did not make his first start until late May, at the Senior PGA Championship, however, he played 11 events (three as an open-qualifier) over the final five months of the year, finishing 45th on the money list. Had a great showing at the inaugural Shaw Charity Classic when he open-qualified and then finished second overall in Calgary. Posted three straight rounds in the 60s, including a closing-round, 7-under par 64, for his best career finish in a Champions Tour event. Brother Curt is a longtime golf analyst for Golf Channel.
2014 Notes: Played in a career-high 21 events during the year, including three as an open-qualifier, finishing 39th on the money list, six spots higher than in 2013. His season earnings totaled $452,801, a Champions Tour personal best. Best finish was at the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, where he finished second to John Cook by one shot after making bogey at the par-3 17th hole from the back of a greenside bunker. Performance on the Monterey Peninsula equaled his career-best Champions Tour finish. His other top-10 of the year happened when he received a sponsor exemption for the Insperity Invitational and finished T-ninth at The Woodlands C.C. He finished 42nd in the Schwab Rankings.
2015 Notes: Had his best outing in his final start of the year when he finished T-ninth at the Toshiba Classic with three consecutive rounds of 67. His other top-10 finish came in his second start of the year when he finished T-10th at The ACE Group Classic. Was 45th on the money list and 63rd in the Schwab rankings. Regained fully exempt status for the 2016 season when he finished T-second at the Qualifying Tournament. Started the final round T-10th, but shot a bogey-free 8-under 63 at the TPC Scottsdale's Champions Course, equaling the low round of the event, to vault into second place.
2015 Notes: Started his year with a T-3rd finish at the Allianz Championship, and added five additional top-10s with a T-8th at the Principal Charity, T-5th at the U.S. Senior Open Championship, T-6th Boeing Classic, T-3rd at the SAS Championship, and lost a playoff to Scott McCarron for a runner-up finish at the Dominion Charity Classic. In 24 starts were 16th on the money list and 14th on the Schwab rankings.
2017 Notes: Was T-6th at the American Family Insurance Championship. Also T-9th at the Japan Airlines Championship, T-10th at the Chubb Classic. Slid from 16th on the 2016 money list to 52nd at the close of the season but did advance to the second stage of the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Saw a big drop off in his greens in regulation, slipping from 8th to 46th on the final standings.
2018 Notes: Played in 22 PGA Tour Champions events with one top-ten finish, T-8th at the Senior PGA Championship. Had an ace at the 17th hole in the third round. Advanced to the second Playoff event, the Invesco QQQ Championship. Finished T-25th at the tournament and 46th in the standings failing to advance to the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
2019 Notes: Played in 24 PGA Tour Champions with five top-ten finishes. Was 31st on the Schwab Cup points list. Best finish 5th at the Regions Tradition, T-5th Shaw Charity Classic, and Pure Insurance Championship. Also was T-7th at the Ally Challenge and Sanford International.
2020 & 2021 Notes: Played in 34 PGA Tour Champions with one top-ten finish. Was 53rd on the Schwab Cup points list. Was T-5th at the 2020 Charles Schwab Series at Bass Pro Shops Big Cedar Lodge, shooting 63 in the final round to finish a shot back of the four man playoff won the Shane Bertsch. His best finish in 2021 was T-13th at the U.S. Senior Open. His season ended with a 46th place finish at the TimberTech Championship.
2022 Notes: T-25th at the Cologuard Classic.
