Picked up an unofficial victory late in the season with partner Keegan Bradley at the Franklin Templeton Shootout. The duo was 32-under for the three-day event, winning by three strokes.
2012 Notes: In 24 starts had three top-10s: T-4th at Valero Texas Open, T-5th at Waste Management Phoenix Open, and T-8th at Reno-Tahoe Open. Finished the year 110th on the money list and 130th in the FedExCup standings.

Qualified for the British Open via his finish at the Quicken Loans National as part of the new Open Qualifying Series, but missed the cut.
2015 Notes: Finished T-2nd at the Humana Challenge for his first top-10. He closed with a 64 to climb the leaderboard, finishing one shot behind winner Bill Haas. Managed to rebound with three birdies to eventually finish T-8th with Chris Kirk and Scott Pinckney. Finished T-9th at the Wells Fargo Championship and T-6th at the Alstom Open de France, his first European Tour start since a T-7th result at the 2012 Alstom Open de France. When Kizzire wasn't able to birdie the par-5 18th, Steele was victorious. In the event a year earlier, Steele held the outright lead after each of the first three rounds before a 4-over 76 Sunday resulted in a T-17th finish. Added back-to-back T-6th finishes, first at the SBS Tournament of Champions, and two weeks later at the CareerBuilder Challenge. Crafted another T-6th finish at The Players Championship. He T-13th at the U.S. Open, despite a final-round 73. Advanced to the FedExCup Playoffs for the sixth time, ending his season at the third Playoffs event, the BMW Championship. Ranked 33rd in the FedExCup standings.
2018 Notes: Played in 22 PGA Tour events making 16 cuts with 3 top-ten finishes. Was 56th in the FedExCup standings. Did it again, winning the Safeway Open this time by two shots over Tony Finau. Since the event moved to the Silverado Resort and Spa in 2015, Steele's collective 50-under-par total gave him the distinction of being the most-under-par player in the first three years of the event. Finished T-3rd at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, finishing three shots from joining the Woodland/Reavie playoff. Was T-10th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with partner Jamie Lovemark.
