Jennifer Song

She has dual citizenship in the U.S. and South Korea, her father, Mu-Seok (Moo-Sock), is an engineering professor, and her mother, Jeeyeon Koong, is a concert pianist. Her family moved to South Korea when she was 2, then back to Michigan when she was 5, and back to South Korea again when she was 8. She took up golf at age 8, and was a member of the Korean National team in 2007 at age 17. When she is not playing, Jennifer is an artist and has her drawings throughout her home. She also enjoys cooking and watching movies. Really wishes she had the ability to breakdance, which is what she would choose to showcase if she ever starred in a Super Bowl commercial. Majored in Business at USC.
Had a superb amateur golf career. Named to 2010 USA Curtis Cup Team, where she went 2-2-1 in the five-point victory over Great Britain and Ireland at Essex County Club in Massachusetts. Helped Team USA to the title at the 2010 Copa de las Americas in Argentina and partnered with Jessica Korda to win the women's team competition. In 2009, she joined Pearl Sinn as the only female to claim two USGA championships in one year, winning the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links and U.S. Women's Amateur. Beat Kimberly Kim, 6 and 5, for the WAPL title at Red Tail Golf Club and Jennifer Johnson, 3 and 1, for the Women's Amateur crown at Old Warson Country Club. Runner-up at the 2008 WAPL, where she fell to Tiffany Joh in the final, 2 and 1.
Tied for low-amateur honors at the 2007 U.S. Women's Open, finishing 39th. Also qualified for the 2008 U.S. Women's Open and was low amateur at the 2009 U.S. Women's Open where she tied for 13th, her best finish in an LPGA event to date.
Was an alternate for the USA at the 2008 Curtis Cup. Served as captain of the 2007 Korea National Team. Won the 2006 Asia Pacific Junior Golf Championship, where she recorded her first hole-in-one.
In 2010, Song finished her sophomore season at the University of Southern California after recording two collegiate wins and then turned professional after the Curtis Cup Match. Won professional debut at the Duramed Futures Tour's Tate & Lyle Players Championship in Decatur, Ill., shooting a final-round 61 to win by six strokes. Posted a top-five finish the following week at the Futures event in Hammond, Ind. Also won the Futures Tour's Greater Richmond Golf Classic. On the LPGA Tour, recorded her best finish as a professional with a tie for 15th at the CN Canadian Women's Open. Finished second on the LPGA Futures Tour season-ending money list to earn membership on the 2011 LPGA season.
In 2011, tied for 16th at the Avnet LPGA Classic.
2012 Notes: Best finish was a T-6 at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup. She finished 71st on the Tour money list and made 13 cuts out of 22 events.
2013 Notes: Made five cuts out of 17 events and finished 108th on the Tour money list. Her best finish was a tie for 19th at the ISPS Handa Australian Women's Open.
2014 Notes: She was 83rd on the LPGA in earnings with $124,446 and 82st in CME points. She made 12 cuts in 19 starts. Her best finish was T-23rd at the NW Arkansas Championship.
2015 Notes: Made the cut in 16 of 27 starts and finished 67th on the money list. Finished 37th in CME points thanks to a season-best finish of T-11th at the CME Group Tour Championship.
2016 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA events, making 21 cuts. For the second straight year in a row had her best finish of the year in the last event of the year. Finished 3rd, her career-best showing, at the CME Group Tour Championship. Was 46th on the money list with $390,513 and 12th in CME points.
2017 Notes: Played in 29 events and made 22 cuts. Had 2 top-ten finishes 4th at the McKayson New Zealand Women's Open and 8th at the Evian Championship. Finished 48th on the money list.
2018 Notes: Played in 24 LPGA Tour events making 19 cuts with three top-ten finishes. Was 33rd on the money list with $626,263 in earnings and was 46th in the Race to CME. Was T-2nd at the ANA Inspiration she was eliminated from the playoff after 3 holes. Also 3rd at the CP WOmen's Open 6 shots back of winner Brooke Henderson. Ended her season with a 6th place finish at the Blue Bay LPGA, 5 back of winner Gaby Lopez. Was a career-best 33rd on the money list with $626,263 and was 58th in the Race to CME.
2019 Notes: Played in 21 LPGA Tour events making 16 cuts with one top-ten finish. Was 85th on the money list with $160,531 in earnings, was 82nd on the CME points list. Best finish 8th at the Pure Silk Championship, 5 shots back of winner Bronte Law.
2020 Notes: Played in 16 LPGA Tour events making 12 cuts with four top-ten finishes. Was 37th on the money list with $393,883 in earnings and 24th on the CME points list. On the England swing was T-7th at both the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open and AIG Women's Open. Was 3rd at the ShopRite Classic 3 shots back of the winner Mel Reid. Also was T-6th at the Pelican Womens Championship.
2021 Notes: Best finish 11th at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational with partner Hee Young Park. Next best finish T-14th at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Golden Ocala.
